Honda Cars PH to unveil latest Civic Type R soon?

It would be safe to assume that it is only a matter of time before Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) officially introduces the latest version of the Civic Type R and we have a hunch that it might be revealed sooner than expected.

As expected, the Japanese automaker’s local distributor is mum about its arrival but judging on how the company operates, it seems that the vehicle might be formally unveiled within the month.

If this is the case, then chances are the country's allocation for the model examples could be pretty low despite the expected demand being high.

The aforementioned model, which was revealed last year, is based on the 11th-generation Civic (touted as the “Best Civic Ever”) that was brought to the country in November 2021.

As seen when it was first released, the forthcoming model is expected to have a 2.0-liter engine paired to a six-speed manual transmission and rev-matching system.

Also, buyers for the upcoming version of Honda Civic Type R can possibly expect appointments like red seats and carpet, as well as the serialized Type R plate, which was moved from near the stick shift to the dashboard.

The said model could also have the following features: new +R driving mode exclusive meter design that displays the necessary information instantly (with a graphic engine rpm display, rev indicator lights, and gear position indicator placed at the top); data logger (called the Honda LogR) that provides real-time information on the mechanical movements of the vehicle.

Early last year, the latest Honda Civic Type R broke the record for the fastest front-wheel-drive car at the famed Suzuka Circuit in Japan.

Based on the details shared now, fan boys might want to wear their running shoes and stretch those fingers to contact the nearest Honda dealership to check if a reservation can be made as early as now.
