Honda Philippines Inc. (HPI) revealed why its all-new CL500 is the perfect city tourer and light off-road motorcycle for Filipino riders.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What powers the Honda CL500?

The Honda CL500 is powered by a 471 cubic-centimeter engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
  • How much is the Honda CL500?

The Honda CL500 is priced at P409,000.
  • According to HPI, the latest addition to its big bike roster gives Filipino riders everywhere the chance to flex their style muscles without compromising performance. The Honda CL500 bears the motorcycle company’s latest interpretation of the classic street scrambler style that’s made with the modern rider in mind.

Key to its street scrambler style are features such as its high-position dual-exit exhaust pipes with stylish heat guard, an all-black diamond-structure steel frame, low-slung seats, and a classic round-shaped fuel tank.

It also sports the same circular LED headlamps as its stablemate, the Honda Rebel 1100.

Additionally, the Honda CL500 comes with functional appointments in the form of a classic-looking 41-millimeter (mm) front telescopic fork, a similarly stylish classic black fork cover, dual rear shock absorbers, and a pair of 14-spoke rims with semi-blocked tires allowing its owners to tread both paved and unpaved roads.

The Honda CL500 is powered by a 471 cubic-centimeter engine. The four-valve, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, dual overhead camshaft mill is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The setup, HPI pointed out, makes as much as 45.3 horsepower and 43.3 Newton-meters of torque.

In terms of safety, the Honda CL500 is equipped with features like a highly responsive assist/slipper clutch and front and rear disc brakes with a two-channel anti-lock brake system. Further, the company endowed the big bike with an Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), a safety feature that helps avoid collisions by flashing the signal lights rapidly when sudden braking is applied.

Offered in Matte Laurel Green Metallic and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic, the Honda CL500 is priced at P409,000.
