MANILA: Hongqi Philippines has rolled out the latest iterations of the E-HS9 sport utility vehicle (SUV) and E-QM5 sedan. Both models aim to expand the company’s portfolio and penetrate the local premium segment.
The unveiling of the two new models took place at the marque’s headquarters in Taguig.
Here are some notable features of the said models.
The Hongqi E-HS9 is an electric SUV that offers elegant exterior appointments for those who want to experience luxury while embracing sustainability.
At its fore is a broad grille flanked by LED light clusters. Its sides are highlighted by flush handles on doors with a soft-close feature. Similarly striking are its 22-inch wheels. The tailgate is electronic, and occupants of the seven-seater can enjoy natural lighting thanks to its power panoramic sunroof.
Inside, owners will be greeted by leather-upholstered seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and three wide screens slapped on the SUV’s dashboard. Those sitting in the second row can enjoy spacious captain chairs, while passengers in the third row may still find short rides quite comfortable.
Other interior equipment includes automatic climate control and up to 12 speakers.
Range-wise, the Hongqi E-HS9 can drive as far as 515 kilometers (km) on a single charge. It uses a dual electric motor setup.

The local wing of the Chinese auto brand also showcased the new Hongqi E-QM5.
Looking to cater to sedan lovers in the Philippines, it shares some similar design cues as its bigger brother, such as a fascia with chrome elements, LED lighting, body-tone door handles, side mirrors with integrated turn signals, and 18-inch wheels.
The cabin of the Hongqi E-QM5 boasts polyvinyl chloride-swathed seats and a steering wheel finished with microfiber leather.
When it comes to technology, it has a digital instrument cluster paired with a touchscreen infotainment screen.
Driving the car forward is a single electric motor with a lithium-ion phosphate battery. The setup allows the electric sedan to boast an estimated driving range of 560 km.
