Hyundai PH Ends 2018 with All-New Hyundai Accent

Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines, is ending the year 2018 not with the bang but with a twang as it unleashed four new offers spearheaded by the all-new Hyundai Accent.

During its 'Runway to the Future' celebration on December 6, 2018, Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) Regional Headquarters General Manager Joonmo Ahn together with HARI President and CEO Maria Fe Perez-Agudo led the unveiling of the all-new Accent, together with the Grand Starex Urban, Tucson facelift and the Ioniq Hybrid.

The theme 'Runway to the Future' embodies the essence of Hyundai's new Modern Premium, redefined by 'Quality Time,' the new normal in mobility, which also "epitomizes HARI's vision for 2019: to make the Hyundai brand soar even higher by giving the Filipino people a more heightened driving experience.

The all-new Hyundai Accent, which spearheaded the much-awaited reveal of the four vehicles, will still be available with two powertrains: the 1.6-liter U-II CRDi and the 1.4-liter Kappa MPI engines which will both be available with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

The upgrades for HARI's flagship vehicle, the Grand Starex, has made a leap higher now that progressive refinements were made in the form of the Hyundai Grand Starex Urban. Utmost luxury and sophistication has been made with Nappa Brown Leather from the seats up to the other panel accents in the interior. The nine-seater seating variation is said to give almost every passenger the comfort and pampering it needs whenever inside the mammoth of van.

Just when we think the previous look of the Tucson and the very-young Ioniq are already pieces of art on the road, HARI brought to Philippine shores the facelifted Tucson and Ioniq.

The refreshed Hyundai Tucson has been given slight upgrades inside out, joining the ranks of the all-new Santa Fe and the Kona in bearing the mark of Hyundai's new SUV family identity, the Cascading Grille combined with the eye-catching Composite Light. As one of its ways to tap the yet-to-be-ripe hybrid sector on the country's automotive landscape, the Hyundai Ioniq serves as the Korean manufacturer's testament that being environmental-friendly can still bring flare, thanks to its unique exterior design philosophy dubbed by Hyundai as Visual Aero, thereby exuding a futuristic look inspired by the beauty of flowing air.

In her speech, Agudo expressed resilience despite the economic challenges that HARI has encountered for this year. The evening not just served as the usual merriment for bank partners and the 42-strong dealer network, but also as Hyundai's avenue to express gratitude to those who put their confidence in them as proven in the milestones that they have reached despite the challenges that they have faced.

"2018 brought extraordinary challenges in the marketplace, resulting from the tough economic environment that tested our capabilities. As such, we have remained focused by laying down the groundwork to ensure an unhampered and successful takeoff of our business for the brand in 2019," said Agudo. "'Runway to the Future' is our way of expressing our appreciation of the gallant men and women in the Hyundai dealership network, our esteemed friends from the media and partners in the banking industry who inspired us in braving this year’s headwinds and turbulence in our industry. Given this backdrop, we look forward to take off and fly high towards more notable achievements, and set new records through innovative mobility, headlined by the Hyundai Grand Starex Urban, the Hyundai Tucson facelift, the Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid, and the all-new Hyundai Accent come 2019."
