Hyundai revises Staria roster in PH

MANILA: Hyundai has revised the Staria range for the Philippine market with the launch of hybrid-powered versions.

With the addition of the Hyundai Staria Hybrid, the people mover is being offered in six variations, with the entry-level option being the sole version powered by a diesel engine (ICE). 

In a statement, the Hyundai Motor Philippines Incorporated (HMPH) shared that the electrified Staria offers buyers improved efficiency with premium comfort and advanced connectivity.

Starting at just under P1.5 million, here's a closer look at what the updated Staria lineup in the country offers.

Vehicle specifications

Every Philippine-spec Hyundai Staria Hybrid is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged Euro 5-compliant gasoline engine paired with a hybrid system, producing:

Power is sent to the wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission across the entire hybrid range. 

Hyundai also equipped the model with marque-specific hybrid technologies namely e-Handling, which enhances cornering stability and agility, and e-Ride, which improves overall ride comfort particularly sudden acceleration as well as approaching and exiting speed bumps. 

The Staria Hybrid also serves as the launch pad for the Bluelink with Hyundai Live Services in the Philippines. Using this connected vehicle platform, drivers have access to real-time traffic and weather information directly through the infotainment display without requiring smartphone tethering.

According to HMPH, the data refreshes every two minutes to help drivers make more informed decisions on the road. 

Further, the same system enables occupants to send and receive text messages through voice recognition and gives owners access to vehicle diagnostics, status reports, and remote functions for the climate control system, door locks, horn, and lighting—even before entering the vehicle.

Its host of creature comforts include:

• 12.3-inch infotainment display paired with a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system
• Leather upholstery on mid- and upper-tier variants
• Multiple charging options, including USB Type-C ports for the front and rear rows and a wireless charging pad
• Steering column-mounted Shift-by-Wire selector
• Power-adjustable ventilated seats with lumbar support
• Dual power tilt sunroof
• Smart key with push-button start
• Electronic parking brake with auto hold 

The Hyundai Staria Hybrid has an updated cabin layout to improve passenger accommodation. The nine-seat model adopts a three-row seating configuration, while the seven-seat version benefits from extended seat rails.

Exterior updates are subtle, consisting of a redesigned front grille, newly styled 18-inch alloy wheels, and cube projector-type LED headlamps on higher-spec iterations.

Safety has also been enhanced with the latest Hyundai SmartSense suite, which now includes Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Side Parking Distance Warning.

Buyers can choose from three exterior finishes—Creamy White, Abyss Black Pearl, and Shimmering Silver Metallic—paired with either Bordeaux Brown or Anthracite Brown interiors. The updated lineup is available in the following variants:
