JAC JS6 PHEV seen in PH

MANILA: The JAC JS6 JS6 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) has been spotted in Metro Manila — which further backed up claims about the crossover’s anticipated launch in the Philippine market soon.

As spotted by Carmudi Philippines, the model from JAC (Jianghuai Automobile Company Limited) Motors Philippines was wearing an updated grille (similar to what Juan Paulo Papa saw at the Auto Guangzhou 2024 coverage last November) but sits the same wheels as with the already-available version locally.

Relatedly, a tip was received that the model will be formally introduced in the country sometime in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Astara Philippines has yet to confirm whether the said vehicle will replace or be offered alongside the internal combustion engine-powered counterpart so while waiting, here are some details about the electrified JS6 based on the homologation papers from the Land Transportation Office issued last May.

Documentation from the government shared that the vehicle measures:

It rides on 19-inch wheels in 235/50 radial tires.  

Under the JAC JS6 PHEV’s hood is a 1.5-liter gasoline-fed engine mated to a permanent magnet synchronous motor and a lithium-ion battery, which (as the name hinted) is in a plug-in hybrid setup.

Such a configuration allows the vehicle to enjoy the following outputs:

In its home country, the JAC JS6 PHEV (known as QX PHEV) is equipped with a dedicated hybrid transmission.
