Lexus, ChargePoint, Qmerit team up to enhance EV charging experience in US
Lexus announced that it has teamed up with ChargePoint, a leading public electric vehicle (EV) charging network and provider of home charging equipment, to elevate the charging experience of Lexus owners in the United States (US). They will be working alongside Qmerit, a home charger installation and EV integration solutions provider.

According to Lexus, the ChargePoint Home Flex comes with a 23-foot charging cable and can be installed indoors or outdoors.According to the Toyota-owned luxury car marque, car buyers in the US who purchase the new all-electric RZ 450e will be offered several ways to enhance their battery-electric ownership through an elevated charging experience. These include the option to purchase a ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 charger at the dealership or directly from ChargePoint online.
“With the Lexus RZ 450e arriving at dealerships soon, we want to ensure our guests have a seamless charging experience both at home and on the road. Our arrangement with ChargePoint and Qmerit was created to provide RZ guests with tools and services to help them to understand, identify and solve their charging needs so they can feel confident in their Lexus Electrified journey,” said Lexus Group Vice President and General Manager Dejuan Ross.
With the ChargePoint Home Flex connected charger, EVs can be charged up to nine times faster than a standard outlet.
ChargePoint Home Flex, which is Energy Star-certified and Wi-Fi enabled, can be installed indoors or outdoors and comes with a 23-foot charging cable to support different parking configurations.
“As transportation continues to electrify, we have been steadfast in our commitment to make it easy for drivers to charge their EVs, whenever and wherever they are. Through this arrangement, Lexus drivers will benefit from the simplicity of having access to all of their charging information, across public and home charging, when using Home Flex and the ChargePoint network,” commented ChargePoint Chief Revenue Officer Michael Hughes.
As for Qmerit’s part, the EV charging solutions provider will offer end-to-end services such as locating a certified electrician to install the EV charger or providing an initial free quote, among others.
Customers, Lexus explained, will be introduced to Qmerit during their purchase checkout process at participating dealers.
