Lexus PH recalls select models over faulty fuel pumps

MANILA:  Lexus Philippines has issued a recalled order over select GS-F and RC-F units for their faulty fuel pumps.

As stated in the Department of Trade and Industry advisory, a total of 63 units are being recalled as their low pressure fuel pump may become inoperative because of the swelling impeller material. 

This swelling can result to warning indicators lighting up, engine no-start conditions, and vehicle stalling, which could result in a crash.

These are the particular number of models (and their respective production period) that need to undergo service:

RC-F	59	September 24, 2014-October 13, 2020

According to Toyota Motor Philippines, the said portion will be replaced for free.

Several Lexus models have undergone recall orders.

Early this year, the premium automotive marque’s local arm recalled some 3,258 Lexus units over faulty parking assist electronic control units (ECU) and before that, some 1,172 LM and LS500 units were also recalled for defective cluster panels.
