TMP described in its
Special Service Campaignthat the issue involves one of the two
high-pressure fuel pumps of the
5.0-liter 2UR-GSE V8 gasoline engine. In the Special Service Campaign, TMP claims that there there is a possibility that the
pulsation damper in one of the fuel pumps could become damaged due to the
resonance of the fuel pressure under specific driving conditions, which could lead to
abnormal noise and vibration and, over time, can cause the pump cover to develop a
fatigue crack. If the vehicle is operated continuously under these conditions, the crack could expand and may lead to a
fuel leak which, "in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a
vehicle fire."
As a preventive measure, TMP will
replace the fuel pump with a
new one, free of charge, for its customers. TMP will contact the affected customers through
Official Notification Letters and invite them to bring their vehicles to the lone Lexus dealership in the country located in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City for servicing.
