Loaded 2023 Ram ProMaster breaks cover at Indianapolis Work Truck Week Trade Show

The commercial division of Ram Trucks has just unveiled the latest iteration of its full-size working van, the new 2023 Ram ProMaster. The reveal took place at the National Truck Equipment Association’s (NTEA) Work Truck Week trade show in Indianapolis, a fitting venue for the debut of the commercial van.

“Ram ProMaster continues to evolve as we listen and respond to commercial customer input, and the 2023 model is a culmination of that effort. Now available in three roof heights and featuring a broad array of safety, advanced technology, and connectivity features, Ram ProMaster delivers confidence for hardworking people every day, no matter their line of work,” said Ram CEO Mike Koval Jr.

The 2023 Ram ProMaster is aimed at the largest commercial customer categories and is equipped to take on the most demanding duties.

At the front end are headlights and fog lamps that flank the van’s three-piece fascia. It also features a modular bumper with an integrated step to make changing wipers and cleaning the windshield easier.

The height of the commercial van can be increased by 10 inches thanks to a super high roof configuration available for the 2023 Ram ProMaster. An optional Black Appearance Package is also available for the bereft workhorse which adds a black grille, badges, and alloy wheels.

Inside, the 2023 Ram ProMaster packs a configurable touchscreen display system that features split-screen capability for dual application operation. It also comes with Alexa In-Vehicle Assistant and is Wireless Apple CarPlay- and Android Auto-ready.

The steering wheel's controls are also backlit for added convenience. 

The new Ram ProMaster van is designed to take on jobs that require the use of various devices, such as laptops and tablets. It features a standard 12-volt power outlet, a fully functional USB outlet, and a standard USB Type-C port. There’s also an available wireless charging pad with connectivity ports plus an optional 115-volt/150-watt outlet.

Other interior highlights include Ram Telematics, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, firmware over the air (FOTA) update capability, and advanced navigation.

Providing the 2023 Ram ProMaster with sufficient power is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine mated to a segment-exclusive TorqueFlite nine-speed automatic transmission. This setup gives the hefty hauler 276 horses 339Nm of torque.

The 2023 Ram ProMaster comes with a suite of safety features including full-speed forward collision warning, crosswind assist, a rear backup camera with dynamic gridlines, post-collision braking, drowsiness detection, traffic sign recognition, push-button starter, keyless entry (all doors), and an electric parking brake.

Optional safety features include parallel and perpendicular park assist, intelligent speed assist, lane keep assist, traffic sign information, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, active drive assist system, front parking sensors, auto high-beams and cornering function fog lamps, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

According to the Stellantis-owned automotive marque, the 2023 Ram ProMaster will be available in the US in Q3 of 2022. An electric version of the commercial van will be released sometime in 2023 and will initially be used by Amazon.
