LTO commences license plate distribution in Region 7

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has commenced the distribution of physical license plates in Region 7.

According to the agency, those living in the Central Visayas region may now proceed to their nearest LTO branches and submit their copies of Official Receipt (OR) and Certificate of Registration (CR) to the Public Assistance and Complaints Desk-in-charge.

After which, they will have to wait for a text confirmation on the plate status and when to claim it.

The LTO reminded their clients to ensure that their motor vehicles (MV) or motorcycles are registered in Region 7. They can check this by looking at their Certificate of Registration, where they should find the MV File No. starting at 0701 only.

The releasing of the number plates will be at the respective LTO office where the agency’s clients submitted copies of their OR and CR, or at the Plate Distribution Area at SM Seaside City for LTO 7 offices within Cebu and Mandaue cities on an appointment basis.

As for Replacement Plates applied and paid in 2015, these can only be claimed at the District Offices where these were last transacted and paid. Clients may refer to their OR to check the District Office where it was paid and claim their plates thereat.

“Alongside this campaign will be the intensified law enforcement activities focusing on plates in the coming weeks. All law enforcement officers within their geographical area of responsibilities were directed to conduct road-side operations on weekdays and weekends and flag down motorists with plates concerns such as no plate attached, dilapidated plate, improvised plate, virtual plate and the like,” LTO said in a press release.
