Good news to Mercedes Benz B lovers: the Mercedes Benz B 250 e-plug in hybrid is now up for grabs in the UK. While it is not yet available here, we will not be surprised if this would be brought to the Philippines in due time. Of course, it might take a while, but  even Darth Vader had to wait six sequels to meet his son, Obi Wan Kenobi, right?

Setting the dramatics aside, we have to accept the fact that we might to wait some time before the Mercedes Benz B 250 e will arrive on Philippine shores.

Just like all that is rewarding in life, it will be definitely worth it.

Now with a classier and sportier facade, this lovable, hybrid hatchback comes with a 1.3-liter gasoline engine that can generate 158 horsepower (hp) and 230 Nm. It also has an additional 101 hp and 330 Nm available from the electric motor.

Meanwhile, the on-board battery has a usable capacity of 10.6 kWh, allowing the B 250 e to come with an all-electric range of up to 42 miles.

According to Mercedes Benz, it can deliver up to more than 100 kilometers per liter and comes with an 8G-DCT automatic transmission and a 7.4 kW AC on-board charger.

Emitting just 27 g/km of CO2, the B 250 e comes in three model lines: AMG Line Executive; AMG Line Premium; and AMG Line Premium Plus.

The AMG Line Executive offers the standard MBUX multimedia system, with its ‘Hey Mercedes’ virtual assistant to keep you company  (in case you need a friend and a shoulder to cry on).

It also comes with a a privacy glass, heated front seats, Thermotronic climate control, 18-inch five-twin-spoke alloy wheels, Artico man-made leather and Dinamica microfibre upholstery, smartphone integration (including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), a 10.25-inch media display, wireless charging, Parking package, and Mirror package.

The range-topping AMG Line Premium has an additional 10.25-inch digital cockpit, Keyless-Go locking and unlocking, ambient lighting, and Mercedes Benz advanced sound system.

It also offers a panoramic sunroof, multi-beam LED headlights, memory seats for the driver and front passenger, and a traffic sign assist. 

Meanwhile, the AMG Line Premium Plus is the only variant that comes with theDriving Assistance function. This feature includes Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Braking Assist with cross-traffic function, Active Distance Assist Distronic, Active Emergency Stop Assist, Active Lane-change Assist, Active Speed Limit Assist, Active Steering Assist, Evasive Steering Assist, Pre-Safe Plus, and route-based speed adaptation.

The Mercedes Benz B 250 e starts from £35,280 (P2.2 million), for the B 250 e AMG Line Executive. The AMG Line Premium equipment line costs £36,780 (P2.3 million), while the AMG Line Premium Plus is £38,280 (P2.4 million). It will The first batch in UK will arrive in late summer.
