MG PH to Rock 2019 MIAS with MG 6, Product Lineup, and MG Live!

This summer, the highly-anticipated Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) once again makes it annual appearance, happening from April 4 to 7, 2019 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. The MIAS is touted as the country's most anticipated car and motor trade show, showcasing the world's top car brands all under one roof. It is with this that the MIAS is regarded as the ideal venue for MG Philippines to showcase its latest products, as it stands shoulder-to-shoulder with other leading international car brands present at the show.

"MG has done very well in many parts of the world where, in the past, the MG brand was not a household name. Places like Latin America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia have embraced MG for their high quality and ability to satisfy various needs and lifestyles. Given this, and recognizing that The Philippines is one of the most important and fastest growing automotive markets in the world, we feel that the time is just right for MG to make a big splash in the Philippine auto scene," says Atty. Alberto B. Arcilla, President and CEO of The Covenant Car Company, Inc., the distributor of MG in the Philippines. "We see that the qualities of today's MG cars strongly appeal to Filipino buyers, and that is why we are showcasing these modern, attainable, British heritage vehicles at an event such as the MIAS where the Filipino car-buying public can have a hands-on experience with them."

MG Philippines will display three models and make these available for test drive at the 2019 MIAS. These are the MG ZS crossover SUV, the MG RX5 compact SUV, and the MG 6 fastback sedan. Each model from MG Philippines is offered at a very competitive, all-in down payment rate, comes with one-year free PMS, and gives future owners access to a host of innovative aftersales services such as the Mobile Garage service where MG owners can have their cars serviced right in the comfort of their homes.

MG PHILIPPINES KNOWS 'FUN'

The overall theme for this year's MIAS is 'Fun and Function.' The 'Function' aspect is addressed by offering the motoring public all the helpful information it can get on the latest MG products, promos, and aftersales services. But MG Philippines has definitely not forgotten about the 'fun' part. The 2019 MIAS also serves as the culminating venue for MG Philippines' ongoing free concert series, MG Live! And if there are two things we know about Filipinos, it’s this: it's always a fun time when music and cars are in the same building!

For Filipinos music and driving are inseparable. MG Philippines recognizes this and has engaged with some of the country's top bands in an effort to bring the driving playlists of Pinoys to life. The final leg of MG Live! Powered by Phoenix Pulse Technology at the 2019 MIAS will feature OPM band Ultra Combo. The band will perform at the MG Philippines booth on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 4 PM. Ultra Combo is made up of Buddy Zabala, Marcus Adoro, and Raymund Marasigan--effectively 3/4 of The Eraserheads--and will play popular Eraserheads tunes to the delight of the audience.

MG Live! is a free event open to all car and music lovers, and special MG giveaways and VIP concert passes await those who visit the MG Philippines booth. Simply add MG Philippines on social media (Facebook: OfficialMGPhilippines; Instagram: mg_philippines), tag MG Philippines in your posts, and use the hashtags #MGPhilippines, #MGLive, and #ComeAliveWithPhoenixPulse for a chance to take home premium MG and Phoenix merchandise.

THE MG 6: FAST IS BACK

MG Philippines also takes the opportunity to announce that "Fast is Back" at the 2019 MIAS with the launch of its MG 6 fastback sedan--a compact sedan that offers a new take on sport-luxury and enjoyable driving dynamics that MGs are traditionally known for, without breaking the bank.

The MG 6 is designed to satisfy those who want to get behind the wheel of a stylish car that will satisfy the need to go on a spirited drive, without having to sacrifice comfort. The MG 6 is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 164 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. Drivers will not be lacking for power when behind the wheel of the MG 6. It also comes equipped with a host of driver assists including Cornering Brake Control, Electronic Brake Distribution, Hill Start Assist, Traction Control, and other systems that ensure driver safety is placed at the forefront. Inside, the spacious cabin is finished in soft-touch materials, while the seats provide ample lumbar support for a more comfortable drive. The MG 6 also features a large boot space, split-folding rear seats, an eight-inch LCD infotainment unit equipped with Apple CarPlay, a push start/stop button, a multi-function steering wheel, and a sunroof for when the weather outside is pleasant.

The MG 6 is the compact sedan of choice for those who place high importance on a car’s performance, both under the hood and inside the cabin. It is for those who want to elevate their driving experience without necessarily having to spend a high sticker price for it. The MG 6 is the reincarnation of the driving pleasure offered by MGs of the past, refined for the modern driver.
