Mitsubishi breaches 130k-unit mark in May YTD 2023 sales

Mitsubishi has sold more than 130,000 units in the first five months of 2023. 

Delivering a total of  134,368 examples around the world in January-May 2023, the Japanese carmaker handed over 93,648 units to its overseas clients, and 40,720 to domestic buyers.

For the month of May alone, Mitsubishi retailed 24,758 vehicles. Out of the said number, 18,255 of which were overseas sales, while the remaining 6,503 were sold domestically.

Among the brand’s top markets are Asia, North America, and Europe.

No mention of what are its best-sellers, although it is highly possible that the Mitsubishi Xpander — considered as the best-selling multi-purpose vehicle in the country — contributed to the brand’s growth in terms of sales.

 

Production-wise, Mitsubishi built a total of 415,360 units from January-May 2023. 

For last month, the automotive company produced 74,939 automobiles with 31,538 coming from its Japanese factories while the remaining 43,401 automobiles came from its overseas facilities.

Some of Mitsubishi’s factories outside of Japan include those in countries like China, Thailand, and Indonesia. Produced in these countries are models like the Montero Sport sport utility vehicle and its pickup truck sibling, the Strada.
