MPT Mobility has announced that motorists who use the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) can start taking advantage of the all-in-one travel mobile device app, DriveHub.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What can the MPT Drivehub users do with the app?

Those who have the MPT Drivehub app can start reloading their radio frequency identification (RFID) accounts in real time, tap and track their RFID account, as well as call directly for emergency assistance.
  • Aside from CCLEX, where can motorists use the MPT Drivehub app?

The MPT Drivehub can be used at North Luzon Expressway, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway, and Cavite-Laguna Expressway.
  • In a statement, the digital innovations arm of the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) said that CCLEX users can start reloading their radio frequency identification (RFID) accounts in real time, tap and track their RFID account, as well as call directly for emergency assistance.

“Using digital technology and MPTC’s various integrated systems and services, MPT DriveHub not only offers faster and seamless driving experience for CCLEX users, it is also a tool that can help accelerate the economic progress of the province of Cebu,” MPTC shared.

According to MPT Mobility President and MPTC Chief Executive Officer Rodrigo Franco, the company created the mobile app (free to download on Apple App Store and Google Play) to provide ease and convenience to motorists while travelling to elevate their overall driving experience.

Early last month, the CCLEX’s electronic toll collection system was partially activated for motorists. Though there are some booths that still accept cash payments, the company said that the facilities will eventually be converted to RFID-enabled lanes.

“While we’re introducing this technology in Cebu, we believe that this new system will greatly improve not just drives, but lives,” Franco noted.

For his part, Cordova Link Expressway Corporation President and General Manager Allan Alfon expressed pride over the latest initiative.

“This partnership is important because mobility is important. The CCLEX itself is not just a way to get from one place to another, but also a testament to how much Cebu has grown; it’s a mark of our progress,” he said.

Aside from CCLEX, the MPT Drivehub can be utilized in other MPTC-operated toll roads namely North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway (CAVITEX), and Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX).
