Nissan has spruced up the Leaf that is bound to arrive in Europe around two months from now.
The iconic mass-market electric vehicle from the Japanese automaker was styled to be more eye-catching and fitted with more innovative technology.
“The Nissan Leaf has always been about making advanced technology and the thrill of electric driving accessible to everyone with over 577,000 customers worldwide. Leaf has been designed around families’ needs to offer seamless connectivity and an efficient powertrain,” Nissan AMIEO Region Vice President for Product Strategy and Pricing Arnaud Charpentier was quoted as saying.
The 2022 Leaf features Nissan's new logo on the wheels, front grille and rear. Its new 16- to 17-inch wheel alloys complement the sharp lines that the electric car now wears, with a slick black fascia to enhance the premium vibe.
The incoming iteration of the Europe-bound Nissan Leaf will have two new hues (Pearl Blue and Magnetic Blue) to join the range of five monotone and five two-tone options. The new colors were first made available in the Qashqai and Ariya.
The 2022 Nissan Leaf will be offered in two battery options that deliver up to 239 miles (WLTP) in the Leaf e+.
Further, the 2022 Nissan Leaf also features an extensive driving assistance and connectivity technologies that include the ProPilot (allows the vehicle to automatically stop, start and maintain a safe distance to the vehicle in front) and the e-Pedal technology (allows the car to speed up, slow down and stop with only one pedal).
Further, the 2022 Nissan Leaf offers customers a host of infotainment features within the on-board NissanConnect system, which has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration.
“As the popularity of electric vehicles continues to grow, Nissan is pursuing an exhilarating chapter in its electric mobility story. Leaf has played a key role in shaping Nissan’s vision for empowering mobility and beyond, as we leverage our EV expertise to launch 23 new electrified models — including 15 full EVs — by fiscal year 2030,” Charpentier added.
The 2022 Leaf will have a starting price of £26,995 (more than P1.869 million) and will be available for pre-order starting March 1, 2022.
With the attention the nameplate is receiving in the Philippines, we just hope that the aforementioned version will also reach the country's market as well.
