Nissan now accepting pre-orders on limited-edition Ariya in Japan

Nissan Ariya

The pre-order kick-off for the all-new Nissan Ariya has begun after Nissan started offering the limited-edition lineup of the pure electric crossover in its home country.

In a statement, the Japanese automaker said that the special-edition Ariya will be coming in two battery sizes, two powertrain options and exclusive features “to meet the needs of a wide range of customers.”

These are the following options:

  • Ariya B6 limited edition 2WD (66 kWh battery capacity)
  • Ariya B9 limited edition 2WD (91kWh)
  • Ariya B6 e-4ORCE limited edition AWD (66 kWh) and;
  • Ariya B9 e-4ORCE limited edition AWD (91 kWh)

Prices for the aforementioned approximately starts at ¥6.6 million with standard models starting at approximately ¥5 million yen after available government subsidies. The initial Ariya B6 limited edition 2WD is eyed to reach Japan during winter season there.

Those eyeing to get the vehicle may order in advance using the Shop@Home platform. Meanwhile, Nissan will start taking pre-orders for the Ariya in other launch markets later this year.

The estimated range for the above-mentioned variants (based on WLTC Japan cycle; subject to homologation) are seen below:

  • Ariya B6 limited edition 2WD (up to 450 kilometers)
  • Ariya B9 limited edition 2WD (up to 610 kilometers)
  • Ariya B6 e-4ORCE limited edition AWD (430 kilometers) and;
  • Ariya B9 e-4ORCE limited edition AWD (580 kilometers)

The top-of-the-line B9 variant can cover zero-100kph in 5.1 seconds while the base-trim B6 2WD gets to that rate in 7.5 seconds. Top speed ranges from 160kph for the 2WD offerings and 200kph for the upper-class line.

Nissan Ariya

The Nissan Ariya was officially unveiled July last year. Based on Nissan’s timeline, the 100-percent electric crossover will be offered in Europe, North America, and China by end of 2021.

In January 2021, Nissan bared plans to make all its all-new vehicles electrified by 2030, to be carbon neutral in its operations and products in 2050.

“With 100 percent of all-new vehicle offerings to be electrified in the key markets of Japan, China, the US and Europe by the early 2030s, Nissan will also be among the leaders in driving the adoption of electric vehicle technology,” Nissan claimed in a statement.
