Retail of PH-spec all-new Hyundai Santa Fe starts today

Sales for the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe have commenced today.

In a statement, Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) shared that the nameplate’s latest version sports a very different look compared to its predecessor as the new one expresses an “Open for More” design concept.

The fifth-generation Hyundai Santa Fe has grown longer and taller as the newly-introduced offering is 4,830 millimeters (mm) long; 1,900 mm wide; and 1,780 tall with the wheelbase extended to 2,815 mm tailgate widened to 145 mm to increase cabin space.

It also exudes a rugged look with its boxy and chiseled silhouette that complements the midsize sport utility vehicle’s (SUV) stance.

H-shaped elements are also fitted all around the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe’s exterior as seen on the LED horizontal lamp with daytime running lights (DRL), front bumper garnish and radiator grille, and rear taillights.

Knowing that the overall shape would increase drag, Hyundai made offsets by outfitting the SUV with angled side mirrors, active air flaps on both top and bottom of the front bumper, skid plates, and a spoiler at the rear. 

The all-new Hyundai Santa Fe feat comes with a bridge-type roof rail, dual sunroof, and C-Pillar Assist Handle. Wheel size and design vary from 20-inch silver to 21-inch black ink alloy wheels, depending on the chosen trim.

Welcoming occupants inside the cabin roomy and flexible cabin that showcases the “plus alpha” space experience philosophy.

Second- and third-row seats are fully foldable and can be utilized as a cargo bed for groceries, sports, and recreational activities.

Front chairs are power-adjustable, with the mid and upper-tiered variants getting the additional ventilated/heated functions.

Placed at the dashboard is a panoramic curved display that combines two 12.3-inch screens: a digital instrument cluster and an infotainment system. The latter has Android Auto, Apple Carplay or Bluetooth and is paired to a six-speaker setup.

To cluster gauge’s left side is a fingerprint recognition system gauge that supports seat memory customizing and gives access to a personalized infotainment system.

As the all-new Santa Fe was developed during the Covid-19 pandemic, Hyundai retained the UV-C sterilization tray on top of the glove box, which can be used for health and sanitation purposes.

The air-conditioning system can be adjusted using the full-touch climate control panel while mobile devices can be juiced up using the dual wireless charging pads, six USB-C ports, or a 12-volt socket.

Nooks and crannies are a-plenty in the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe, which include the bottom space in between the front row seats a bi-directional console box with a lower sliding tray.

Further, additional H-shaped components comprised the vehicle’s cabin through the dashboard’s mood lights and aircon-vents, and complementing seat stitching.

Powering the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe is a 2.5-liter gasoline engine (in turbocharged and normally aspirated versions) that can give out peak churn of 277 horses and 422 Newton-meters of torque.

It is matched to an eight-speed transmission (either in dual clutch or normal automatic types) and provides eight drive modes: Normal, Eco, Sport, Smart, Auto, Sand, Mud and Snow.

The newest offering’s mid and crème-dela-crème variations come with Hyundai Traction all-wheel drive (AWD) system.

Available across all trims of the all-new Santa Fe is the Hyundai Smartsense safety technologies that include smart cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, forward collision avoidance, lane following and keeping assist, blind spot view monitor, reverse parking collision avoidance, parking distance warning, manual speed limit, rear occupant alert and surround view monitor.

Here are the following variations and colors of the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe — all packaged with a five-year or 200,000-kilometer vehicle warranty:

“The wait is over; we are excited to be offering the much-anticipated All-New Santa Fe to our Filipino customers. This model holds a special place in Hyundai’s history books as it is actually our first ever in-house SUV. It has been serving as the centerpiece of the brand’s growing SUV portfolio and has sold over million units as well as gained a loyal following globally,” HMPH President Dongwook Lee was quoted as saying.

“Over the course of 23 years, the Santa Fe has always progressed with the times by incorporating modern design philosophies and trends. And this 5th generation is no different as it embodies our commitment to continuously innovate how we can cater to our new era of customers and their lifestyles.”

Moreover, HMPH also announced that a hybrid version is scheduled to enter the Philippine market in the second half of 2024.

Relatedly, the all-new Santa Fe can be viewed at the forthcoming legs of the Hyundai Mobility Experience tour, which will resume on March 22-24 at Ayala Malls Glorietta in Makati City before heading to other cities outside Metro Manila.
