Subaru Solterra EV to debut at LA Auto Show

In a recent press release, Subaru confirmed that the all-new Solterra will make its debut at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show on November 17, 2021.

According to Subaru, its first-ever all-electric SUV will feature next-gen technology and everything its customers have come to love about the brand: Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, active safety technology, and durable, reliable engineering.

We first heard about the Solterra back in May where Subaru said that the upcoming EV SUV will “represent Subaru’s commitment to delivering traditional SUV capabilities in an environmentally responsible package.”

Subaru says that the Solterra was built on the all-new e-Subaru Global Platform and that “Subaru engineers worked to bring together the brand’s all-wheel-drive capability, superior driving dynamics, and world-leading passive safety.” The result says Subaru is an “advanced full-electric SUV that is also a truly capable and durable Subaru SUV.”

In addition, Subaru has previously said that the Solterra EV will be built in cooperation with Toyota and that it will be a joint venture between two carmakers.

This will not be Subaru’s first dance with Toyota as both automotive brands have collaborated in the past with both companies getting identical cars in the form of the Toyota 86 and the Subaru BRZ.

On that note, anyone following both brands will be wise to assume that the upcoming Solterra SUV EV will bear a close resemblance to Toyota’s recently announced bZ4X EV SUV.

Subaru said that it will be streaming the world premiere of its first all-electric SUV live.
