MANILA: The Suzuki Fronx appears to be ready for its official launch after the Land Transportation Office gives the crossover the green light.
Not too long ago, the Suzuki Fronx was presented to the Philippine public by Suzuki Philippines Incorporated during its Matsuri festival sometime in June.
Based on the homologation papers released by the agency, the Suzuki Fronx will be powered by a 1,462 cubic-centimeter gasoline engine with a top speed of 175 kilometers per hour.
It was not shown what transmission setup was used, but Carmudi Philippines suspects that it could be the Suzuki automated manual transmission, which is commonly known as Auto Gear Shift or AGS.
And while we’re on the topic of suspicions, the publication believes that the upcoming Suzuki Fronx will also be using Suzuki’s mild-hybrid technology, such as the one powering the Ertiga Hybrid, XL7 Hybrid, and the newly-released Dzire Hybrid.
Dimension-wise, the paperwork states that the Suzuki Fronx has an overall length of 3,995 millimeters (mm), an overall width of 1,765 mm, and an overall height of 1,550 mm.
The Suzuki Fronx for the Philippine market will also have a 2,520 mm wheelbase and clear the ground by 170 mm.
As a proper crossover, it will have seating for five people and will run on a set of 16-inch wheels wrapped with 196/60 tires.
