That's right; according to our source from one of the local Chevrolet dealers, after years of waiting, the Chevrolet Corvette is officially here courtesy of the American carmaker's Philippine-market distributor, The Covenant Car Company Inc. (TCCCI).
The Corvette's entry into the country comes four years after the seventh generation of the popular muscle car made its global debut at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show and three years after TCCCI first revealed its intention to bring it to the Philippines. Known as the Corvette Stingray, it's propelled forward by a 6.2-liter V8 engine that puts out 460 hp and 630 Nm of torque and lets it sprint from zero to 100kph in less than 4 seconds.
Also making its way locally two years after it first went on sale globally in 2015 is the sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro. It has the same 6.2-liter V8 liter engine as the Corvette but slightly detuned to produce 455 hp and 617 Nm of torque. It's also offered with a 3.6-liter V6 engine (335 hp, 385 Nm of torque) or a 2.0-liter Ecotec turbo (275 hp, 400 Nm of torque).
Unfortunately, we have yet to receive the local technical specifications of the two cars but what we do know are its prices: P8,488,888 for the Corvette Stingray and P4,788,888 for the Chevrolet Camaro.
So, are you thinking of getting a loan to buy either one of the two Chevrolet muscle cars?
