2019 Toyota 86 TRD Special Edition Revealed with No Power Upgrades

2019 Toyota 86 TRD Special Edition Revealed with No Power Upgrades
There's a new Toyota 86, but it's not that different from the outgoing model. Say hello to the 2019 Toyota 86 TRD special edition, a car that's designed with an improved look but the same 2.0-liter engine. This 86 is exclusively painted in 'Raven' black along with a TRD tricolor decal and a TRD body kit as seen on the front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper and diffuser, and spoiler. The Japanese sports car also comes with a TRD exhaust with brushed stainless steel tips. In addition, the 2019 86 TRD special edition is equipped with SACHS dampers, Brembo brakes, and a set of 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sports 4 tires. Toyota shared that the SACHS dampers improves the 86's steering response and stability, while the front and rear Brembos yield more stopping power. The Michelin tires, on the other hand, allows the 86 to have a better grip. The interior of the car comes with a black and red theme, which gives the cabin a sporty appeal. The black and red motif can be seen on the vehicle's steering wheel, bucket seats, and door panels. Finishing the interior look is the dashboard's suede-like material with a TRD logo. Under the hood, this 86 is powered by the same 2.0-liter boxer engine. The six-speed manual 86 delivers 205 hp and 211 Nm of torque, while the six-speed automatic puts out 200 hp and 205 Nm. Of note, the 2019 Toyota 86 TRD special edition will have a limited production run of 1,418 units.
