According to TMP, its partnership with SBP is more than just the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 as the company will be working closely with the national association to improve the level of basketball in the country.

Per TMP, it will also be assisting in various basketball clinics and coach camps, which aim to share knowledge at the grassroots level.

All of the aforementioned activities, TMP said, highlight the significance of the major event that the SBP is undertaking, as well as the importance of championing the national team and other local athletes.

While FIBA Asia Board and SBP President Al Panlilio expressed gratitude to TMP over the assistance given by TMP, the group continues to welcome high-profile sponsors for the program.

“Even as we thank Toyota Motor Philippines for agreeing to be part of this once in a lifetime experience, we are inviting others as well who wish to also share in this global activity, this journey which in a sense is truly a merger of world caliber sports and big business,” Panlilio was quoted as saying.

For his part, TMP President Atsuhiro Okamoto shared that the company is elated over the newly-forged partnership with SBP.

“By being part of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 journey, one of the biggest global sports events this year, we aim to further inspire and encourage more Filipinos to use the power of movement to reach their full potential. This is the spirit of our ‘Start your impossible’ global sports campaign. With this partnership with FIBA through SBP, and unity basketball brought to Filipinos, we are always moving closer to our goal of producing happiness for all,” he explained.

Prior to the upcoming tournament, the Philippines has taken part in six World Cup competitions. This year’s participation will be their seventh time playing in the international tournament, and the second time hosting the event.

YMPH announced earlier that it will be the Gilas Pilipinas’ official lifestyle motorcycle sponsor for the upcoming meet.
