Volkswagen Arteon R-Line Now Available for Order in the UK

Arteon R-Line Edition Volkswagen
Volkswagen has just made a fancier version of its new flagship sedan, the Arteon. Announcing the availability of the Arteon R-Line Edition, the generously equipped limited model boasts a more powerful output and starts from GBP 36,850 (approx. PHP 2.4 million). With respectable sales numbers, selling over 50,000 units since its release in 2017, the Arteon certainly deserves to come in a more stylish form, and it looks like the R-Line Edition is able to deliver in this regard. Volkswagen Arteon R-Line Edition The nifty additions begin with keyless entry and helpful top-down camera system Area View, and driver assistance systems such as Side Assist Plus with rear traffic alert and Park Assist for added ease of use and safety. Driver-centric flourishes also come into the fray, including Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) adding adaptive dampers with selectable and customizable driving modes. The model is distinguished by its custom 20-inch ‘Rosario Black’ alloy wheels and comes in only one color motif: Moonstone Grey, with contrasting black roof and door mirror housings. All of these added features would cost an Arteon owner GBP 4,775 (PHP 310k) in vehicle upgrades, but the limited edition only accounts for a GBP 845 (PHP 308k) price increase above the regular Arteon R-Line. This means that the Arteon R-Line Limited Edition offers a value boost of GBP 3,930, while maintaining the Arteon’s elite status and flair. Besides these Limited Edition features, the Arteon R-Line also possesses self-levelling LED headlights, dynamic light assist, and predictive cornering lights. Inside, there’s Volkswagen’s acclaimed customizable Active Info Display, a 9.2-inch Discover Navigation Pro infotainment system, the R-Line styling pack, and a Nappa leather interior. VW has boosted the Arteon R-Line Edition exclusively with high-end engines, specifically the 2.0 TSIs and 2.0 TDIs, including Bi-TDIs that link to a 4Motion all-wheel-drive system. The gasoline model is 268-hp strong, while the diesel variants can do 236-hp. Both engines are mated to a 7-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission. The iconic German marque is limiting the production of the R-Line Edition to just 1,000 cars, with 370 reserved for the European market. Deliveries to first UK customers are expected to take place in early March. Arteon R-Line Edition Volkswagen “The Arteon R-Line Edition adds even more intelligence, power and exclusivity on top of that already offered in the Arteon, while also further enhancing the car’s striking design and innate quality,” said Lisa Hartley, Arteon Product Manager at Volkswagen UK. “The Arteon’s premium appeal is undeniable, even in its standard SE, Elegance and R-Line specifications, but the R-Line Edition takes this to another level, with sophisticated and powerful engines, a host of comfort and convenience features, a full suite of driver assistance systems, and an assertive yet luxurious look,” Hartley concluded. Sadly, the Arteon is not available in VW's local sedan lineup, which consists of the Santana, Lavida, and Lamando.
