Mazda 3 Sedan

Similar to its Hatchback counterpart, the Mazda 3 Sedan’s cabin design also features a blacked-out trim, which showcases a mixture of sportiness and premium minimalism. To complete the premium feel inside, this sedan offers high-end technological features. For top-notch entertainment and information accessibility, it comes with a 10.25 inch LCD infotainment display that has wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth Hands-free, Dual USB-C ports, and can be linked to the brand’s Mazda Connect. In addition, for premium bass and an enjoyable acoustics overall, this car’s infotainment system is partnered with a 12-speaker BOSE sound system.

Meanwhile, drivers have access to a smart cockpit, which allows them to drive at their best. All variants come with a front windshield-projected active driving display, a 7-inch LCD meter set display, leather-wrapped electric power-assisted steering wheel with multiple controls, and a leather-wrapped shift knob.

The Mazda 3 Sedan line measures 4,660 mm in length, 1,795 mm in width, and 1,445 mm in height. It has the same wheelbase with its Hatchback sibling, which is 2,725 mm. Both variants run on 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels: bright silver for the Sport variant, while silver metallic for the HEV variant.

In terms of suspension combination, the Mazda 3 Sedan line utilizes a MacPherson Strut at the front and a Torsion Beam Axle at the rear. This suspension system helps you have nimble maneuvering and firm handling while driving the sedan. In addition, this car also has a pretty decent absorption of bumps and uneven concrete pavements for compact sedan standards. Hence, its suspension setup ensures that you and your passengers are all relaxed and stable when driving on busy city roads or highways.

Like its Hatchback sibling, the Mazda 3 Sedan line offers two powertrain options. First, its sport variant runs on a 2L, in-line 4-cylinder SKYACTIV-G engine that has a maximum power output of 155 PS and a maximum torque of 200 Nm.

On the other hand, its HEV variant runs on a 2L, in-line 4-cylinder e-SKYACTIV-G hybrid engine, which has a maximum power output of 164 PS and a maximum torque of 213 Nm. The engine is mated to a 24-volt hybrid system and a 0.216 kWh Lithium-ion battery, which has an integrated electric motor output of 6.9 PS and an integrated electric motor torque of 49 Nm. Both run on a SKYACTIV-DRIVE 6-speed automatic transmission system with sport mode.

The Mazda 3 Sedan line showcases a driver-centric cruising experience. Its well-tuned engine delivers power linearly and precisely responds to the driver’s activities. Hence, you will get great engagement from this vehicle while driving. Both variants are feasible vehicles for daily city driving. However, if you prefer more fuel-efficiency, then the HEV variant is at an advantage. Its NVH management is also improved in the latest model.

The Mazda 3 Sedan showcases the brand’s advanced drivers assistance systems, the I-ACTIVSENSE. Both variants are equipped with blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert (with rear cross brake support for the HEV variant). However, only the HEV variant has front cross traffic alert, front and rear smart brake supports, lane departure warning, cruising and traffic support, driver monitoring system, and a driver attention alert. Both variants are equipped with cruise control: ‘Mazda Radar’ version for the HEV variant, while the standard counterpart for the Sport variant.

In terms of braking, the Sedan line utilizes ventilated discs at the front and solid discs at the rear. Its braking setup is protected by an anti-lock braking system and electronic brakeforce distribution. It also has an electric parking brake with an auto brake hold.

The Mazda 3 Sedan is a great contender within the Philippines’ sedan segment. Its look is just unmatched when it comes to elegance and prestige.
