Arguably the highlight of the Ayala-led brand, the Atto3 — which will make its formal entry into the local electric vehicle (EV) arena by November — will come with a standard emissions-free range of 480 kilometers (km) said AC Motors President Antonio Zara.

Moreover, AC Motors’ head honcho noted that the BYD Atto3 will boast an estimated power output of more than 197 horsepower and a maximum torque of more than 300 Newton-meters (Nm).

While specific features of the upcoming Philippine-market BYD Atto3 are yet to be revealed, Zara disclosed that will come with technologies such as a panoramic sunroof, advanced driver assist systems, and the brand’s rotating intelligent touchscreen display.

The BYD Dolphin was also on display at the brand’s booth at the 11th PH EV Summit. The Dolphin, as well as the Han and the Tang, also got new sticker prices. Zara announced that the new price tags of the aforementioned models are P1.398 million, P3.113 million, and P3.321 million, respectively.

Zara also shared that all BYD electric vehicles in the country will soon be using Combined Charging System (CCS) 2 charging systems. Doing so not only allows the brand to adhere the with government’s suggested charging protocols but also ensures that all future BYD models will be compatible with the charging infrastructures to be put up by the Ayala company.

    Kia EV6

The Kia EV6 was also showcased at AC Motors’ booth at the three-day new-energy vehicle expo.

Propelled by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor accompanied by a single-speed automatic transmission, the Philippine-spec Kia EV6 puts out as much as 225 horses with 350Nm of pulling power. A battery pack rated at 77.4 kilowatt-hours offers an estimated all-electric range of 528km.

The Kia EV6 also boasts a vehicle-to-load function, which will allow the battery-electric compact crossover sport utility vehicle (SUV) to power or recharge other appliances.

The Kia EV6 is already equipped with a Type 2 AC charger and a CCS2 DC charger.
