11th PH EV Summit: Day 1 round-up

The first day of the 11th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit proved to have been the premiere venue for anyone invested in the country’s electric vehicle (EV) scene.

Event-goers were treated to two various electric car launches and previews, which included the likes of the BYD Atto3 and the Lotus Eletre.

The former is set to excite the general EV market while the latter is poised to conquer the upmarket, luxury EV segment.

Other brands also made bold presentations, such as Chery with its three-new-energy vehicle salvo.

Unveiled was the Chery Tiggo Pro 7 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), the EQ7 battery-electric sport utility vehicle (SUV), and the EQ1 electric hatchback.

Looking to target not only car buyers who want an electrified personal vehicle, but also those who are eyeing to command an electrified fleet is Dongfeng.

Showcased was the Dongfeng Rich6 EV.

Making an appreciated attendance were other nameplates like the GWM Ora as well as the Hongqi E-HS9 and E-QM5.

The 11th edition of the Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit also played host to a variety of three- and two-wheeled electric models.

Autohub Group here launched a lineup of electric motorcycles from Segway.

There were plenty of other activities and happenings at the three-day EV expo. There were talks and sharings from various government delegates.

The 11th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit will run until Saturday, October 22, at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay.
