All-New Toyota Camry Nabs 5-Star ASEAN NCAP Safety Rating (with VIDEO)
In the latest rounds of crash-testing conducted by the New Car Assessment Programme for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP), the 2019 Toyota Camry received the highest possible score, garnering a five-star rating overall.
In ASEAN NCAP testing, vehicles are given a maximum of 50 points for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 25 total points for Child Occupant Protection (COP), and 25 points for Safety Assist Technologies (SAT), for a total of 100 points.
The Thailand-made Camry managed 49.04 points for AOP, 22.68 points for COP, and 19.75 points for SAT, for a total of 91.47 points.
In addition to its five-star overall rating, the 2019 Toyota Camry earned perfect scores in the side impact (16 out of 16), head protection technologies (4 out of 4), frontal impact (16 out of 16), and emergency brake assist ( 8 out of 8) tests.
