Astara gets another seasoned motoring personality to join PH executive team

Astara Philippines is making aggressive strides toward fortifying its business in the country following the latest changes in its executive team.

Starting today, Fatima Naval-de Leon will be serve as the Marketing Director for all the brands that Astara manages locally. The change was made after Franz Decloedt has been appointed as the new Brand Head of GAC Motor Philippines.

Decloedt — who received his appointment as Astara Philippines Marketing Director in March this year — now spearheads the Chinese automotive brand’s brand operations — overseeing strategic sales and marketing initiatives —  and ensure its overall success. He replaced Redentor Cajayon, who joined the GAC Motor Philippines in January 2023.

Aside from that, Decloedt — who has more than 20 years of marketing leadership experience in the automotive and FMCG industries under his belt — will also oversee sales and marketing directions for Peugeot until a new brand head is appointed. To note, Maricar Parco is the brand head of French Lion brand’s local arm.

"Franz's dedication, creativity, and proven track record make him the perfect fit for leading the GAC Motor brand to new heights. We are confident that his insights and leadership will drive our brand's evolution in the competitive automotive market," Astara Philippines Managing Director Raoul Picello said.

Another seasoned personality in the local automotive industry, De Leon is expected to bolster strategic marketing direction and brand-building efforts in her new home. To note, she carries with her the over 20 years of experience expertise in marketing and corporate communications.

"We are thrilled to welcome Timmy as the new Marketing Director of our company. Her expertise and fresh perspectives will be instrumental in enhancing our brand's visibility and engagement in the market, especially at this critical period of our company’s growth," Picello was quoted as saying.

Further, the Astara Philippines leadership said that the new appointments reflect its dedication to be the partner of choice of leading automotive brands.

“These leadership appointments form part of a long- term strategy aimed at fortifying our position as a key player in the local automotive scene. We are making great strides in our growth and organizational structure, and we will continue with very exciting announcements in the near future,” Picello noted.
