Mazda Philippines announced that the latest iteration of the CX-9 is now available in the country.
In a statement, the local distributor of Mazda vehicles said that the newest version of the flagship seven-seater sport utility vehicle (SUV) “once again raises the standard of class, comfort and elegance.”
The 2022 Mazda CX-9 lineup is made up of three variants: the crème-dela crème AWD Exclusive; the newly-added Black Edition; and the entry-level Touring.
“The Mazda CX-9 has always been at the helm of Mazda’s ongoing journey to premium,” Mazda Philippines President and Chief Executive Officer Steven Tan was quoted as saying.
“As our premier SUV offering, it continues to champion a superior level of quality, richness, and performance that makes it stand out with prestige. We are confident that our discerning clientele will again be enamored by the new CX-9’s presence and the premium stature it affords them.”
Below are the standard features found on the full 2022 Mazda CX-9 lineup that is expected to improve convenience, driving enjoyment and comfort.
The range-topping 2022 CX-9 AWD Exclusive is equipped with Mazda i-Activ All-Wheel Drive system with off-road traction assist.
Sitting on 20-inch bright silver alloy wheels and wearing a new gray metallic front grille design and larger tailpipe finishers, the CX-9 AWD Exclusive is guaranteed to deliver that calm and collected elegance.
On the inside, the Mazda 2022 CX-9 AWD Exclusive is fitted with Oriental Brown Nappa Leather seats with diamond pattern stitches on all three rows for that cozier quilted living space. The front occupants have ventilated seats.
Aside from that, the top-of-the-line variant has an electric sunroof for that natural ambient lighting and airier cabin space.
Providing its rich audio experience are the 12-speaker Bose Premium Sound System paired to the Mazda Connect infotainment display.
The 2022 Mazda CX-9 AWD Exclusive also comes with a complete set of i-Activsense Safety Technologies. This vehicle is armed with Radar Cruise Control (that, when activated, automatically keeps the vehicle’s distance to the car it is following) and Smart City Brake Support for the front and rear (to reduce the probability of collision with oncoming vehicles while driving in and out of parking spaces).
Meanwhile, the 2022 Mazda CX-9 Black Edition is said to emanate a stylish and distinct presence.
This variety is tailored with a new piano-black finished front grille design that complements the 20-inch black alloy wheels and the gloss black side mirrors that creates an imposing presence on any road.
The interiors of the 2022 Mazda CX-9 Black Edition have burgundy leather seats and red stitching on the steering wheel. The driver can power-adjust his seat eight ways while the co-driver, six ways.
A pair of USB ports are embedded in the second-row seats' center armrest.
Its Mazda Connect LCD screen displays a 360-degree camera view to assist drivers when parking. Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert are also available in the 2022 Mazda CX-9 Black Edition.
Further, the 2022 Mazda CX-9 Touring is built for urban mobility as the Skyactiv-G 2.5L Dynamic Turbo engine mated to a six-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission powers the front-wheel-drive configuration of this variant. This gasoline-fed engine can deliver as much as 228 horses and 420Nm of torque.

All these—as well as all the other models of Mazda vehicles — are packaged with the five-year free service plan (that covers the expenses of periodic maintenance at either six-month or 10,000-kilometer intervals, for up to five years or 100,000 kilometers) and three-year bumper-to-bumper warranty.
