MANILA: The first three months of 2025 for the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Incorporated (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) yielded a retail output of 117,074 units.

     Last month alone, the two groups handed over 40,306 vehicles to their clients — showing a 7.6-percent growth when compared to 37,474-unit retail performance for the same month in 2024 and almost three percent higher than the 39,164 vehicles sold in February 2025.

    Under the three-month year-to-date sales data, 5,311 new energy vehicles (NEV) were sold — 1,895 of which came in February this year.

    Sales per category

    Providing the firepower for CAMPI-TMA’s year-to-date sales as of last month is the commercial vehicle segment.

    Under the said category, (which cornered  79.22 percent of the groups’ market) sold 92,742 examples in the first three months of 2025 — reflecting a 13.9-percent increase from the 81,395 examples retailed for the same timeline the previous year.

    Such churn buffered the 13.7-percent sales decline in passenger car sales (24,332 units) from January-March 2024’s 28,211-vehicle churn.
