The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is expecting improved mobility in Capiz following completion of the Maayon Junction Bailan Road Widening Project.

The towns covered in the project are Pontevedra, Maayon, and Panitan.In a statement, the agency said that the project — which covers the towns of Pontevedra, Maayon, and Panitan — is 1.3 kilometers of national road.
“With more road space to travel on, the three owns are expected to see an increase in economic activities in the area,” the DPWH shared in a statement.
Further, the DPWH noted that the project (which costs P49 million) can cater to larger vehicles such as trucks hauling cargo and agricultural products to traverse the national road without causing traffic congestion.
