Car Essentials

Misfortunes still happen no matter how much we try to avoid them, so it’s better to be prepared! After all, being ready can’t hurt anyone, right?  Trouble can strike unexpectedly anytime, anywhere – even while you’re driving. Be better equipped for unexpected events on the road by considering the following car essentials that you should have in your vehicle:

If you find yourself suddenly breaking down in the middle of the road, some devices can help prevent more accidents from occurring. A word of warning: don’t forget your reflective triangles or EWD, ever! Not only is it needed so you won’t find yourself on the wrong side of the law, but using emergency warning devices or reflective triangles are also important for safety purposes. If you need to stop or your car breaks down, installing reflective triangles can help alert or warn other drivers of what lies ahead so that further accidents may be prevented.

On the other hand, for emergencies involving injuries and other things related to health, a first-aid kit is a must-have in your car. However, a first-aid kit will not be effective if it is not well-stocked. Well, what are some of the basic things that you should have in your first-aid kit? Check out the list below:

  • Antihistamine or allergy medications
  • Antibiotics
  • Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, Aspirin
  • Cough medicine
  • Antiseptic cream
  • Insect bites cream
  • Burn gels/anti-inflammatory creams
  • Band-aids
  • Gauze of different sizes
  • Triangular bandages
  • Sterile gloves
  • Cleansing wipes
  • Safety pins
  • Tweezers
  • Scissors
  • Sticky tape

Failing headlights? Dead battery? Flat tires? These and more car-related mishaps can strike at any time, so it’s better to be ready! Tire-changing tools, jumper cables, and a trusty multi-tool are some of the things that will help you in times of troubles. Just in case, your owner’s manual can come handy as well, so don’t forget to keep it somewhere in your car. Don’t forget to bring a flashlight, too! Having them will make your life easier in case you break down at night, although remember that it is recommended to get mechanically-powered flashlights or hand-cranked ones to avoid battery hassles.

Other supplies for convenience

Having a short battery life span is an evil that all smart phone users have to face sometime during their ownership. For your phone which constantly needs juice, you’ll find USB car chargers incredibly useful. Additionally, you’ll find that the legendary handy piece of power source called powerbank will be your friend for your gadget troubles, too.

Not only that, but umbrellas, jackets, and blankets are necessary for rainy days! Comfortable shoes or slippers are heaven-sent, so don’t forget to include those, as well. Other things you will find useful for many situations include reusable bags, toilet papers, and baby wipes.

Troubles aren’t only limited to health and car-related reasons. Even our mundane lives are bound to have bumps along the way so it will be incredibly helpful to have these on hand.
