The number one automotive brand in the Philippines is gearing up for the first race of the
Vios Cup Season 5 slated on
April 28, 2018 at the
Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.
In a statement,
Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) President
Satoru Suzuki said that, "The success of this One Make Series the past four years continues to inspire us in further spreading the
Waku Doki spirit in the local racing scene. And this year, motorsports fans and car enthusiasts can expect an even higher level of excitement. We are very much delighted to invite everyone to come and experience this heart pounding thrill of car racing at the Vios Cup."
In this race, a total of
53 racers composed of
37 individual drivers and
seven celebrity racers will battle it out to see who can really put the pedal to the metal. Race grids will continue to consist of three main categories:
Super Sporting Class, Sporting Class, and Promotional Class with each cluster crowning their respective champions. Motorsports fans and spectators can expect new celebrity drivers such as actors’
Sam Milby,
Diego Loyzaga,
Sofia Andres, and
Chie Filomeno with returning celebrities from last season's race--Japanese-Brazilian model
Fabio Ide, sportscaster
Gretchen Ho (who will participate in Races 2 & 3)
, fitness influencer
Aubrey Miles, and actor
Troy Montero. The event program will be hosted by racers & motorsports enthusiasts
James Deakin and
Gaby dela Merced. The 2018 Vios Cup is in partnership with Bridgestone and Rota, official fuel partner Petron, supported by Motul, Brembo, Denso, AVT, 3M, OMP and TuasonRacing.com.
As another season begins, Toyota promises nothing short of
waku-doki all the way as it once again leaves its mark on the hearts of car enthusiasts and the like. The first race for Vios Cup 2018 will surely be exciting and memorable and one that motorsports fans, gearheads, and car enthusiasts shouldn't miss! Gates open at
