Meanwhile, the American automotive company’s arm in the country shared the parts of a vehicle that are very essential during the rainy season.
Windshield wiper blades
Make sure to replace the rubber blades as soon as possible if it is already damaged since the driver needs to have a good view of the outside — especially when it is raining hard. Before heading out, clean the wiper blades with a wet cloth to remove stones or any debris that might be hiding underneath it.
Tires
Cars with tires have the higher chance of experiencing hydroplaning, which can lead to poor traction. Always do a quick visual check to see if the grooves are still deep enough. Also, service mechanics can check the age of the tires and advise if they need replacement.
Oil pan gaskets
Leaking engine and gear oils caused by damaged gaskets can lead to more trouble as water could possibly seep through it. Have it inspected by trusted mechanics to see if it needs to be replaced.
Anti-lock braking system
The anti-lock braking system is crucial as it gives the driver control over the vehicle during instant hard braking — even when driving on wet roads.
Ford Philippines noted that its vehicles equipped with ABS flash a warning message on the vehicle’s dashboard to tell the driver if it requires servicing.
