Ford Ranger Leads Ford PH's First Quarter Sales
Ford Philippines recently announced its first-quarter retail sales of 5,560 vehicles led by the segment-defining Ford Ranger pickup truck.
Ranger sales rose 25 percent from the same quarter a year ago to 3,142 vehicles, including March sales increasing 21 percent to 1,137 vehicles.
"The Ranger is unmatched in terms of versatility and capability in the market, allowing it to remain one of the best-selling pickup trucks in the Philippines," said Bert Lessard, managing director, Ford Philippines.
Ford launched the new Ranger lineup in the country last year, which consists of nine different variants, including the first-ever Ranger Raptor, the popular high-series Wildtrak, sporty XLT, and more utilitarian XLS variants.
The new Ranger lineup features two new-generation powertrains--the 2.0-liter Bi-Turbo and 2.0-liter Single Turbo engines, as well as the proven Duratorq engine--helping further strengthen the Ranger's 'Built Ford Tough' appeal among Filipino customers.
First quarter sales for the Everest midsize SUV reached 1,645 units, while the EcoSport mini-size SUV recorded quarterly sales of 533 units.
The new EcoSport boasts improved driving performance with either the 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine or the new and more powerful 1.5-liter TiVCT engine with six-speed automatic transmission. It is also more street smart with a bolder look and design, refined interior, and more smart and safe features and driver-assist technologies.
