Ford Philippines is slated to launch the next-gen Ranger, alongside the next-gen Everest, this week. Prior to the upcoming local debut, the next-gen Ranger was launched last Friday in Malaysia through Ford's local partner, Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC).

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How many variants will the PH-spec next-gen Ford Ranger have?

The PH-spec next-gen Ranger will be sold in eight variants. The Malaysian version is offered in seven.
  • What is the price range of the next-gen Ford Ranger in the Philippines?

The upcoming next-gen Ford Ranger will sport a price range of P1.198 million to P1.875 million.
  • “The Ranger has always been a trusted partner to small business owners, families, adventurers, commercial fleets and so many more in more than 180 markets around the world. With the new advanced features offering even greater capability and versatility, we believe that the next-generation Ranger will continue to revolutionize the pickup segment and build on its widening appeal in the market,” said Ford ASEAN and Asia Pacific Distributor Markets President Yukontorn Wisadkosin.

Notable features of the Malaysian-spec next-gen Ranger that we will most likely see in the PH-spec model include a defined new grille, signature C-clamp headlights, a hydro-formed front-end structure, and bolder wheel arches. Matrix LED headlights with auto high lamp headlamp will also be made available on WildTrak and XLT Plus.

Inside is either a 10.1-inch or 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument panel. Many of the traditional driving mode controls have been moved from the dash and center console to their own dedicated display on the Sync screen. Additional interior appointments include a wireless phone charger and improved storage spaces.

The next-gen Ranger for the Malaysian market also sports up to six driving modes, depending on the variant. The modes are: Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul and Slippery for on-road and Mud/Ruts and Sand for off-road on the WildTrak. Meanwhile, variants from the XL base to the XLT Plus now come standard with four drive modes: Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul, and Slippery.

Ford said that these modes adjust everything from the gearshift to throttle response, traction and stability controls, ABS, and more.

The Malaysian arm of the Blue Oval brand said that their next-gen Ranger lineup consists of seven variants including the XL, XLT, XLT Plus, and WildTrak. The highly-anticipated high-performance Ranger Raptor, on the other hand, will be launched in Malaysia later this year.
