The local motorcycle arm of Japanese manufacturer Honda continues to help its partner, Philippine Red Cross (PRC) in more ways than one as it tests PRC riders on road safety awareness.

Last January 21 to 22, when the Greater Manila Area was still under general community quarantine, Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) conducted a road safety awareness seminar and assessment for the first batch of riders to the first batch of drivers from PRC's fleet.

The said seminar was held at the Honda Safety Driving Center in Parañaque City.

PRC Chair and Chief Executive Officer Richard Gordon expressed gratitude for the continuous assistance of HPI to PRC, and even assured a continued partnership toward a common goal.

“We thank Honda for their initiative to help PRC and our fleet. With their help, we will lead our vehicle force safely without slowing down to help the most vulnerable,” he said.

It was in May of last year when HPI—through its CSR wing Honda Foundation, Inc.handed over 104 units of Honda motorcycles to PRC help agency in its humanitarian efforts.

These donations were comprised of  52 TMX 125 Alphas and 52 Wave 110 Alphas that are equipped with insulated top boxes for the transport of blood and other fragile materials throughout the country.

In a statement, HPI said, "(We aim) to help the humanitarian organization to have a lineup that can help during its rescue operations and emergency situations.”

Of note, HPI President Susumu Mitsuishi also stands as HFI Member of the Board of Trustees.
