Honda US introduces Sport trim of new Odyssey

2023 Honda Odyssey Sport

Honda in the United States has launched the latest variant of the Odyssey minivan.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What powers the 2023 Honda Odyssey Sport?

The vehicle is powered by a V6 engine mated to 10-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters — the same powertrain found in other Odyssey variants.
  • What are the available colors for the 2023 Honda Odyssey Sport?

The minivan is offered in Platinum White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, and Sonic Gray Pearl.
  • The Honda Odyssey Sport offers a different take on the family vehicle — now sporting a more athletic look.

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. National Sales Assistant Vice President Mike Kistemaker said that the new Odyssey Sport will help the nameplate “continue to set the standard for minivans in family-friendly features, interior space and sporty driving performance.”

“The Odyssey Sport brings more expressive styling to a product our customers have already made America’s retail best-selling minivan since 2010,” he added.

Slotting between Odyssey EX-L and Touring, the new Odyssey Sport features darkened tail lights, and Berlina Black 19-inch wheels as well as gloss black coated grille, headlight trim, fog light surrounds, door mirrors, B-pillar, C-pillar and tail light trims.

For its interior, the 2023 Honda Odyssey Sport’s the steering wheel and first and second row outboard seats are tailored in black leather with red stitching. The roof pillars and headliner are also black, and the interior glows red at night with accent lighting on the dash, in the driver and passenger footwells, and in the front door handles and door pockets.

The new variant of the 2023 Honda Odyssey is also equipped with the same features found on the offering’s EX-L variation: one-touch power moonroof with tilt feature, power tailgate with programmable height and an eight-way power adjustable front passenger seat. It also has the full suite of Honda Sensing safety and driver-assistive features, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, and Pedestrian Emergency Braking.

Just like all 2023 Honda Odyssey, the Sport variant is powered by the V6 engine mated to 10-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The powertrain can give out a maximum churn of 280 horses.

The vehicle also comes with exclusive Magic Slide second-row seats that fold nearly flat and Rear Seat Reminder that can be integrated with the available CabinWatch child viewing system.

Odyssey Sport is available in Platinum White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic and Sonic Gray Pearl.

The 2023 Honda Odyssey is made exclusively at Honda’s facility in Lincoln, Alabama. Its V6 engine also is manufactured in Alabama, with the 10-speed automatic transmission manufactured exclusively at Honda’s Tallapoosa, Georgia facility.

In the Philippines, the Japanese automaker’s local arm dropped the Honda Odyssey, making the CR-V the biggest people hauler in its roster.
