Hongqi presents 4-car lineup for PH market

Hongqi has unveiled its four-vehicle roster for the Philippine market to mark the official start of its business locally.

Revealed during the launch of the Chinese automotive marque’s flagship dealership, Hongqi is retailing the E-HS9, E-QM5, H5, and H9.

To note, the distributor of Hongqi vehicles in the country is EvoXTerra — a company that also serves as the Weltmeister’s local arm.

The company said in a statement that Hongqi’s entry into the Philippine market signifies EvoXTerra’s “profound commitment to offering diverse mobility solutions to cater to a broad spectrum of preferences and needs.”

“As a brand deeply rooted in tradition yet ceaselessly innovating for the future, Hongqi introduces a captivating blend of battery electric and petrol-powered vehicles. This dual approach ensures that customers can choose from a range of cutting-edge, eco-conscious electric models or indulge in the classic sophistication and performance of petrol-powered vehicles. Here are some details about the Hongqi’s vehicle lineup in the country:

The Hongqi E-HS9 is a fully electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) that comes with a luxurious cabin layout. The SUV is slapped with large-capacity batteries from CATL and is powered by dual motors with all-wheel-drive setup. The mill can deliver almost 215 horsepower (hp).

According to EvoXTerra, the vehicle can cover up to more than 400 kilometers (km) — depending on the trim chosen. In addition, the Hongqi E-HS9 comes in three variants namely Executive, Deluxe, and Flagship.

The Hongqi E-QM5 luxury sedan is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronization motor that has a peak churn of nearly 188 hp. The mill is paired with a lithium iron phosphate battery system that gives the vehicle a 431-kilometer range (based on New European Driving Cycle standards).

Meanwhile, the Hongqi H5 is one of the two internal combustion engine-propelled vehicles under the local lineup. It has two turbo gasoline powertrain options: 1.5 liter and 2.0 liter — with a peak output delivery of 221 hp and 340 Nm of torque.

The model is being sold in five options: 1.5T Basic, 2.0T Standard, 2.0T Comfortable, 2.0T Deluxe, 2.0T Flagship.

Hailed as the brand’s flagship sedan in the Philippines, the Hongqi H9 is retailed in two turbo-gasoline powertrain selections: 2.0-liter and 3.0-liter — with maximum churn of 241 hp and 380 Nm.

The five variants of the Hongqi H9 are the following:
