Nissan handover

The Nissan Philippines is now in the hands of a new leader after Atsushi Najima formally turned over leadership to Juan Manuel Hoyos.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What was Juan Manuel Hoyos' designation before being appointed as Nissan Philippines president?

Prior to his current position, Hoyos was the division general manager for Global Brand Execution and Engagement Division based in the global headquarters.
  • What is Atsushi Najima's next assignment?

Najima will be Nissan India's chief financial officer.
  • While the ceremonial handover — which was attended by various partners, stakeholders, and members of the media — was done Wednesday evening at Okada Manila in Pasay City, Nissan Philippines earlier said that Hoyos started in his new post as early as April 2022.

Prior to his current position, Hoyos was the Division General Manager for Global Brand Execution and Engagement Division based in the global headquarters.

To note, Hoyos is one of the personalities who presented the Nissan Ariya Single Seater Concept late last year.

Meanwhile, Najima's next assignment is at India, where he will be the Nissan's Chief Financial Officer there.

During the event, Hoyos announced that he is eyeing to "strengthen the Nissan brand in the country to improve its competitiveness" and "continue to provide excellent aftersales service to its customers."

Under Najima’s stint, Nissan Philippines coursed through the challenges caused by the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic, retained the company's number 3 position in the local automotive industry and introduced the fully-electric Leaf model.

"I am excited for Nissan in the Philippines as it charts a new chapter with Hoyos at the helm. His vast experience in the automotive industry will help him sustain the growth that we have established in the last three years, as the country steadily recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic," Najima said.

"It is a bittersweet moment for me as I move to my new assignment. My family and I will definitely miss the warmth and hospitality of our colleagues and partners. At the same time, I am proud of the company Nissan Philippines has become through the hard work, passion, and perseverance of its people," he added.

For his part, Hoyos assured that he will continue building the trust Nissan has established over the years with its employees, partners, and customers.

"We will continue to focus on our highly-dedicated people, excellent products and service, and exceptional customer experience so we can sustain the company's growth trajectory through this management transition," the newest chief mentioned.

"I look forward to further growing the Nissan brand in the Philippines, building upon the solid foundation of trust it has laid over the years.”

Further, Hoyos said that he is planning to bring six new or refreshed models but did not elaborate on it during the program.
