Kia PH to unbox K5 at 8th PIMS?

The leadership of the Ayala-led Kia Philippines said that it would continue "unboxing" more models at the 8th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).

“In the PIMS, we have a booth that will showcase five models. Four of them are the latest from our inventory of models. The centerpiece will be the unboxing of the model that we will have,”  Kia Philippines President Manny Aligada told Carmudi Philippines in an interview.

While sharing that the company will unveil one model,  he refused to give the details as of date to heighten the visitors’ excitement at the biennial motor show organized by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI).

However, a source shared that the South Korean automotive brand’s local arm is set to introduce a sedan.

Unconfirmed reports said that Kia Philippines could be launching the K5 — otherwise known as the Optima.

If the Kia K5 would reach the Philippine market, then customers are in for a treat: aside from the sleek and sharp aesthetics, the midsize sedan will provide the market a peppy powertrain — either with a 2.5-liter turbocharged GDI + MPI four-cylinder engine, that makes 290 horsepower (hp) and 422 Nm of torque or 1.6-liter turbocharged GDI four-cylinder engine that can produce as much as 180hp and 264 Nm of pulling power.

Further, the vehicle that measures 4,904mm long, 73.2 inches, 1,859mm wide, and 1,445mm tall, has a wheelbase of 2,844 mm.
