Koenigsegg Agera RS Clocked at 447.24 KPH

A Koenigsegg Agera RS may now be the fastest car in the world after one was clocked doing 227.9 mph (447.2 kph) on a closed-off 11-mile (17.7 km) section of the Nevada State Highway 160 in Pahrump, Nevada in the United States.

According to the official Koenigsegg Facebook page, the Koenigsegg Agera RS's was timed with an average speed of  447.2 kph over two runs in both directions, with the data being recorded and verified on site by GPS data logger system manufacturer Racelogic. For the first run, the Agera RS was timed doing 284.6 mph (458 kph) while the second run was clocked at 271.2 mph (436.5 kph).

Behind the record-setting run was Koenigsegg factory driver Niklas Lilja who, earlier in October 2017, drover another Koenigsegg Agera RS in a 0-400-0 kph run of 36.44 seconds at the Vandel Airfield in Denmark. The 0-400-00 kph run was completed in 2,441 meters with the highest speed attained at 403 kph. Incidentally, after setting the top-speed record run, Koenigsegg ran--and broke--its 0-400-0 kph record that same day by doing it in 33.87 seconds.

Koenigsegg shared that "full information about the day will be forthcoming later."
