Lexus Electrified Sport to make US debut at 2022 MCW

This year’s Monterey Car Week will host a series of events that will showcase some of the best the world’s top car brands have to offer. From the unveiling of the Bentley Batur to the Audi S1 e-tron quattro Hoonitron made specifically for Ken Block, the 2022 Monterey Car week has it all.

Lexus, Toyota’s luxury division will also take part in the automotive festivities and has confirmed its attendance starting with the unveiling of Lexus‘ newest electric sports car.

Through its four-day participation in the 2022 Monterey Car Week, Lexus aims to show fans and attendees the brand’s evolution and give event-goers a peek at its future through the lens of its Next Chapter pillars of bold design, Lexus Driving Signature, electrification, and intuitive technology.

Starting on August 18, the brand's US arm will introduce the Lexus Electrified Sport. A walkaround by Catly Design Research President Kevin Hunter will be held at the Pebble Beach Golf Links. Hunter will provide his expert insight into the creation of the all-electric, high-performance vision of the future during a Lexus Electrified cocktail reception on the said date.

To be displayed that day are other Lexus models such as RZ 450e, RX 500h F Sport Performance, IS 500, LC 500 Convertible, and the Lexus Racing RC Cup Car.

Those in attendance will also have the chance to drive Lexus cars like the LC 500 Convertible, LC 500 Coupe, RC F, IS 500, NX 350, NX 450h+, and the LX 600.

The following day (August 19), Lexus will present the Electrification, Performance and the Next Chapter of Lexus: A Conversation with Vinay Shahani, Vice President of Lexus Marketing, and Townsend Bell, Lexus Brand Ambassador. It will be held at the Lexus display at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering.

During the course of their 10-minute conversation, they will touch upon the first-ever 2023 RX 500h F Sport Performance, Lexus Racing, and Townsend’s years-long relationship with the brand, including the IS 500 he modified with Hiraku Co. for the 2021 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.

Cars to be displayed that day will be Lexus models including the RX 500h F SPORT Performance, Hiraku & Townsend Bell Street Performance IS 500, and the Lexus Racing RC F GT3.

On Saturday, Lexus will stage a display and drive event where they will showcase a strong lineup with the Lexus Electrified Sport, RZ 450e, RX 500h F SPORT Performance, IS 500, LC 500 Convertible, and the Lexus Racing RC Cup Car.

Available for driving are models like the LC 500 Convertible, LC 500 Coupe, RC F, IS 500, NX 350, NX 450h+, and the LX 600.

Capping its 2022 Monterey Car Week participation, Lexus will hold a Boys and Girls Clubs of Monterey charity drawing event at the Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance.

Lexus has been a familiar face on the peninsula both as a proud partner of Pebble Beach Resorts for 20 years and as a sponsor of the Pebble Beach Concours d ’Elegance for 24 years.
