More than 35,000 units of transport network vehicle services and taxis have currently been approved to operate in Metro Manila.

As of June 11, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said that they have allowed 35,514 units, which comprised of 18, 813 TNVS units and 16, 701 and taxis.

The number of allowed units is in accordance to Memorandum Circular (MC) 2020-018 or also known as “Guidelines for the Operations of Taxis and TNVS during the Period of GCQ.”

For the resumption of operations, the LTFRB reminded that there would be no fare increase and that they only allow cashless transactions as payment.

Further, the LTFRB mentioned that operators and drivers are to observe the protocols under MC 2020-018 to lessen the spread of the dreaded COVID-19, such as wearing of face mask and gloves, cleaning and disinfecting of their respective every after two hours or after trips, using of non permeable transparent dividers and adopt the passenger seating capacity based on the guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) and the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
