The Maserati Grecale's debut gives the Modena-based luxury car brand a nameplate to compete with the Porsche Macan. Positioned below the Levante, the Grecale is touted as an SUV that offers the ideal balance between “versatility, elegance, performance, and innovation” and guarantees “performance, comfort, and safety” at all times.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How many variants will the Grecale have at launch?

At launch, the Grecale will have three variants: GT, Modena, and Trofeo. It will also have a limited-edition model.
  • Will there be any future variant planned for the Grecale?

Maserati says that there will be a fully-electric Grecale to be launched soon.
  • At launch, the Grecale is said to come in three variants: the 300hp mild-hybrid GT (first photo below), the 300hp mild-hybrid Modena (second  photo), and the 530hp V6-powered Trofeo (third photo).

According to Maserati, a fully electric version of the luxury SUV will also be made available soon. In addition, the Grecale will also be available in the PrimaSerie Launch Edition, a limited edition featuring exclusive content.

The Maserati Grecale boasts a stunning new design. It embraces Maserati’s new visual symbol, which started on the MC20, separating old and new models. At the fore of the SUV is a low and imposing grille flanked by a pair of sporty, yet elegant headlamps. The rear has boomerang taillights inspired by the Giugiaro 3200 GT perfectly fits the SUV’s trapezoidal line that’s made even more striking by the coupé effect of the cabin and its finish like a sports car's.

The cabin of the Grecale comes with standout tech specs that include a digitalized traditional Maserati clockface which with the help of voice control, transforms into a veritable in-car concierge. And because every control in the Grecale is touch-based, the interior boasts a clean and calming aesthetic.

Speaking of which, the SUV offers three spectacular display screens: a large 12.3-inch central screen (the largest ever seen in a Maserati), an 8.8-inch display for the extra controls, and a third for the passengers in the rear seats.

The in-car experience is managed from the Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) Multimedia system, from the state-of-the-art infotainment, and from Maserati Connect.

The in-car sound is pushed to the absolute limits of enjoyment by an all-around sound experience, ensured by the typical Maserati roar and the immersive Sonus Faber 3D sound system. The Sonus Faber system — as standard at Premium level — includes 14 speakers or 21 speakers on-demand at High Premium level.

Driver-assist features enhance the experience such as the new 100 percent Maserati Vehicle Dynamic Control Module (VDCM) system and the 360-degree control it offers over the SUV. Maserati said that the option of complete control translates into a clear distinction between the various Drive Modes: Comfort, GT, Sport, Corsa (available with the Trofeo only), and Off-Road.
