MIAS 2019: Jeep PH Introduces All-New Jeep Compass

Auto Nation Group celebrates its 15 years as the official importer and distributor of Jeep, Dodge, Chyrsler, and RAM vehicles by launching the all-new Jeep Compass at the 2019 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) last April 4, 2019 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City.

"We are proud to showcase the best of Jeep through our expanded line-up of SUVs in the Philippines. Our recent launch of the all-new generation Jeep Wrangler, and today's launch of the all-new Compass here at the MIAS show Auto Nation Group's solid commitment towards building a stronger presence for the Jeep brand in the Philippine market," said Vince Gaviño, Sales and Marketing Head for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM brands.

The All-New Jeep Compass: Meant for City Driving

The all-new Jeep Compass showcases an unmatched combination of attributes that includes legendary and best-in-class 4x4 off-road capability, advanced fuel-efficient power trains, premium and authentic Jeep design, superior on-road driving dynamics, and a host of innovative safety and advanced technology offerings.

The Jeep Compass boasts a rigid foundation and features a premium, sculptural design aesthetic. The upper body structure and frame are engineered as a single unit for a stiff and more mass-efficient structure. It is designed and built with an extensive use of high-strength steel and liberal use of structural adhesives.

Inside, the all-new Jeep Compass showcases a premium interior design highlighted by sculptural surface elements and precise technical detail. From the driver's cockpit and center console to the seats and multiple storage solutions throughout the cabin, the interior is thoughtfully designed with characteristic Jeep design cues and accented with a color and finish that complements a lifestyle of adventure.

"It's built for city driving," says Isaac Yao, Country Manager and Head of Business and Network Development for Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles Asia Pacific. "With an all-new front-row system, aerodynamics..we got 2.4 liter engines. This makes it built for city driving in terms of congestion..so I say it's actually an iconic 4x4."

Planned for retail in August, the all-new Jeep Compass expands the brand's SUV line-up in the Philippines. Variants, colors, and pricing will be revealed soon.

Jeep's Legacy and Future Plans

Jeep’s legacy in the Philippines started when American troops began to leave the Philippines at the end of World War II and left hundreds of surplus Jeeps to be sold or given to Filipinos. One of these vehicles was the 1943 Willys Jeep. These Jeeps were stripped down, altered and decorated with vibrant colors and have evolved into what is commonly known today as the Philippine Jeepneys.

After more than 70 years, the Jeep brand is an iconic American brand owned and managed by FCA.  The company plans to bring more of their models in the coming years.

"For now, we only have brought in the Philippines most probably 40 percent of our range, so for the next 1-2 years we would like to bring a whole full range of Jeep products in the Philippines, which is really gonna be good," Yao added.
