Mitsubishi eK X EV

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) announced that it will be offering the all-new eK X EV in Japan for the coming summer season.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What is the maximum torque of the all-new Mitsubishi eK X EV?

The Japanese automaker's kei car could provide up to 195Nm.
  • How many charging ports does the eK X EV have?

The vehicle is fitted with two charging ports: one for normal, and the other for quick charging.
  • In a statement, the automaker said that the latest electric vehicle (EV) offering “offers a driving range sufficient for everyday use at an affordable price.”

MMC shared that the Mitsubishi eK X EV will be priced from Y2.398 million (P986,369) to Y2,932,600 (P1,206,266), depending on the variant chosen.

“The new model features the spacious, pleasant cabin and user-friendliness same as the eK X, a height-wagon kei-car, while also providing the smooth and powerful driving experience of EVs, a quiet and comfortable ride, and the convenience made possible by advanced driver assistance systems and connectivity,” the company noted.

Powering the all-new Mitsubishi eK X EV is a high-capacity drive battery that gives the vehicle a driving range of 180 kilometers (in accordance to WLTC standards). It can also be a convenient power source for appliances via a V2L adapter.

The vehicle offers a maximum torque 195Nm and provides three drive modes: Normal mode (optimal for city driving), Eco mode (reduces power output to improve power consumption), and Sport mode (provides more throttle response).

It comes with two charging ports – one for regular charging (AC200V/14.5A, which takes about eight hours for the battery to be fully juiced up), and another for quick charging (about 40 minutes to reach 80 percent charge).

To ensure the optimum temperature of the car's drive battery, its cooling system uses air conditioner refrigerant.

Just like every Mitsubishi vehicle, the all-new eK X EV sports the Dynamic Shield front fascia design made up of the dark chrome grille, LED front fog lights.

On the inside, occupants will find an electric shift lever and a seven-inch color LCD meter that displays battery status, power consumption information, navigation information, and other necessary information.

Meanwhile, its nine-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio (SDA) navigation system is Android Auto-and Apple CarPlay-ready.

Further, the all-new Mitsubishi eK X EV utilizes a MI-PILOT parking support system that automatically detects possible parking positions and can handle backward parking, forward parking, or parallel parking.

Apart from that, it is also equipped with adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist functions.
