The Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South) bared its traffic alleviation plans for the expected surge of motorists in the forthcoming 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections as well as the observance of All Saints and All Souls' Days.

    The next SMSK program MPT South-operated toll roads will be on October 27 at 6 a.m. to October 29, 6 a.m.; October 31 at 6 a.m. to November 2 at 6 a.m.; and November 4 6 a.m. to November 6, at 6 a.m..
  • What MPT South-operated expressways will the program cover?

MPT South’s program will cover the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) and CAVITEX C5 Link.
  • In a statement, the toll operator for the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) and CAVITEX C5 Link said that it reactivated the “Safe Trip Mo, Sagot Ko" (SMSK) motorist assistance program that will be conducted at 6 a.m. tomorrow (October 27) till 6a.m. of Sunday (October 29); October 31 at 6 a.m. to November 2 at 6 a.m.; and November 4 6 a.m. to November 6 at 6 a.m..

"MPT South toll roads are fully prepared to serve the expected traffic surge across our toll road networks as we approach these consecutive holidays. With CAVITEX C5 Link and CALAX implementing 100-percent RFID dry run, we urge our motorists to have an RFID installed and ensure it has sufficient load for a more seamless passage at our toll roads. Motorists may plan their trips through MPT DriveHub app which provides traffic update, toll fee calculator, reloading facility, and even emergency roadside assistance” MPT South President and General Manager Raul Ignacio said.

As part of the program, MPT South will deploy additional patrolmen, security personnel, ambulant tellers and RFID assistants.

In addition, the company shall also give free towing for Class 1 vehicles (up to the nearest exit only) and emergency medical services.

To complement the aforementioned augmentation of personnel and free services, MPT South’s official social media accounts and the 24/7 hotline 1-35000 shall remain readily available to cater to customer requirements.

Further, MPT DriveHub app will provide traffic updates and seamless access to RFID transactions, reloading, trip planning, and emergency roadside assistance.

To note, MPT South is under the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, which is the toll road development arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC). Aside from the CALAX and CAVITEX MPTC also operates North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), the NLEX Connector Road, the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) and the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) in Cebu.
