MPTC programs recognized at 58th Anvil awards

Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC)-led operators recently bagged numerous recognitions at the 58th Anvil Awards.

Based on their respective statements, the NLEX (North Luzon Expressway) Corporation and Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South) received their corresponding accolades at the awards night more commonly known as the country’s “Oscars of Public Relations.”

The toll operator of the NLEX and the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) was honored with two silvers for its corporate social responsibility programs namely the Pag-unlad at Paglago ng Pamayanan (PUNLA): A Barangay Development Plan Capacity Building Training for Barangay Leaders as well as the NLEX-SCTEX Community Farm. It also took home another pair of silvers for the 2022 NLEX Corporation Calendar and the #NLEXPatrolBreak Road Safety online video series.

Meanwhile, the Cavite toll firm also took a Silver Anvil award for the “Bayani Ka Activity Book”.

NLEX Corporation Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management Donna Marcelo and her counterpart at MPT South Arlette Capistrano both expressed their gratitude toward the honors that they received.

“We are honored and thankful to be given these awards that validate our mission of creating positive change through our communication campaigns and stakeholder engagement programs,” Marcelo said.

“Children ages 5 to 12 years old are one of the more vulnerable segments in the topic of roadway safety so we developed the Bayani Ka activity book to emphasize their group. It is an honor to take home another award from the country’s most prestigious award-giving body for us Public Relations practitioners. This inspires us to continue and to produce more compelling campaigns to address social and safety issues in our expressway,” Capistrano shared.

According to NLEX Corporation, the PUNLA program trained barangay leaders on how to develop, implement, and monitor an effective barangay development plan to attain a more sustainable and resilient community while the NLEX-SCTEX Community Farm in Caloocan City enabled the partner community to have its own small-scale farm.

The 2022 NLEX Corporation Calendar and #NLEXPatrolBreak Road Safety online video series incorporated tourism and road safety culture, respectively.

On the other hand, MPT South’s comic book is made up of activity pages like quizzes, coloring pages, word searches, and others that will help boost children’s developmental skills. The company produced 2,500 copies and more than 740 physical examples were distributed to different public schools in MPT South’s neighboring communities in Metro Manila (Paranaque, Pasay, and Taguig), Cavite (Kawit, Silang, Bacoor), and Laguna (Santa Rosa and Binan). To date, the company continues to circulate and partner with children’s centers and public libraries in CAVITEX and CALAX communities.
